Italy and Inter Milan legend, Mario Balotelli has hailed Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen.
This comes after Osimhen inspired Napoli to win its first Serie A title in 33 years.
The Nigerian scored a title-clinching equaliser in Napoli’s 1-1 draw with Udinese on Thursday to hand the Azzurri their third scudetto in the club’s history and first since the Diego Maradona era.
The goal also saw Osimhen equalled Ballon d’Or winner, George Weah’s record for the highest African goalscorer in Serie A with 46 goals, and broke Cameroon legend, Samuel Eto’o’s record for the most goals scored by an African Player in a single Serie A season.
With 22 goals this term, Osimhen is on course to become the first African Serie A golden winner.
Balotelli, who joined the Nigerian on his Instagram Live Session on Thursday, said Osimhen still doesn’t know how great his achievements are, adding that he would realise years later.
He said, “I have been calling some friends from Napoli, it is crazy. Trust me, you did something incredible.
“You still don’t know what you did. You will realise with the years. Not tomorrow, not next year. In ten years, you will understand what you did.”
