Rising South African singer, Tyla has revealed musicians who inspire her.
She named Nigerian Grammy-award-winning singer, Tems, the late American King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and Barbadian-American singer, Rihanna as her mentors.
She said the trio inspired her to become a musician.
She disclosed this in a video posted on Tiktok recently.
Tyla said, “Michael Jackson, Rihanna, and Tems! Tems is a good inspiration.”
She also disclosed that Wizkid, Rema and Ayra Starr are the most popular Afrobeats artists in South Africa.
She said, “The Afrobeats artists that people listened to the most in South Africa are Wizkid, Rema and Ayra Starr. We listen to literally every kind of artistes. Also obviously, the global [stars such as] Drake. We listen to all.”
