Ingrid Hajek was married to actor James Caan whom he started dating in 1989. They bonded over their shared childhood home, Queens, New York, and dated for a year. They later got married on Sunday, September 9, 1990. Their wedding party took place on a yacht, Regentsea, in the harbor at Marina Del Rey. At the time of their marriage, Ingrid was 29 years old while her husband was 49 years old. In 1991, they had a son, whom they named Alexander James Caan (32 years old). 
Their union lasted for five years after which they divorced each other on March 29, 1995. The reason for their divorce was not made known but it was linked to the relationship James had with Heidi Fleiss when he was married to Ingrid.
In a 1994 interview with Vanity Fair, actress Heidi Fleiss revealed that she began a relationship with James in 1992 while he was still married to Ingrid. Heidi said she visited him often on the set of Flesh and Bone in Texas. However, James later revealed that their relationship was just nonphysical. James was married four times and divorced the same until he died in 2022.

Currently, Ingrid Hajek’s ex-husband, James Caan, is dead. He had congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
