Hernan goes to find Luisa and Mayumi. He asked some tricycle drivers if they had seen them and one of them offered to take him where they were.

Luisa and Mayumi got attacked by a thief who wanted to steal their money. Luisa fought with him but he threatened to hurt Mayumi so Luisa gave him her bag. They ended up losing all the money they had and had nowhere to go.

Brenda and Isabelle followed Hernan to stop him from giving the lottery money to Luisa. Isabelle ran over to him without looking at the road and got hit by a tricycle.

Hernan had spotted Luisa and was about to approach them but had to go back to take care of Isabelle. He and Brenda rushed her to the hospital and the doctors said that her condition was critical. She needed surgery to get better and they did not have the money.

Brenda urged Hernan to use the money from the lottery because they needed to save their daughter. Hernan finally went to the lottery ticket office and cashed the money to pay for Isabelle’s hospital bills.
Luisa didn’t have enough money to take care of herself and Mayumi. She bought food for Mayumi and went hungry so she ended up falling sick. Mayumi went to beg for help from strangers but people ignored her. A woman left her wallet at a table to pick up a call and Mayumi considered stealing the money but she decided against it.

A guy came by claiming that the wallet belonged to him but Mayumi refused to give it to him. They began to fight over it and when the woman came back, the guy accused Mayumi of trying to steal the wallet but he stopped her. Mayumi said it wasn’t true but no one believed her and she almost got taken by the police.

A woman who saw the incident intervened and told the truth that Mayumi was the one who stopped the guy from stealing. The guy ran away and Mayumi told the woman who owned the wall that she needed some money for her sick mother.

The woman went with Mayumi to meet Luisa and Luisa told her what happened to them. The woman turned out to be someone that Mario had saved once before and she was grateful to him for saving her life. She, therefore, decided to pay the debt by giving Luisa and Mario a place to stay. She also hired them at her beauty shop and Mayumi learned how to wear makeup.

Twelve years later, Mayumi was a young woman. She made a living as a vendor selling makeup but she wanted to do something more to give her mother a better life. She ran into Isabell who hit her with her car and scolded her for hawking makeup at an exclusive area.

Isabelle’s family was rich after Hernan used the money he got from the lottery to start a beauty products company. He still felt guilty for using the money because it belonged to Luisa and Mayumi. He, therefore, hired a private investigator to look for them but was yet to find them.
Meanwhile, Hernan’s wife Brenda was battling cancer.

She ran into Luisa once at the hospital she was receiving her chemotherapy but she was hostile towards her. Isabelle saw Luisa there too and Brenda told her never to tell Hernan that they saw Luisa so that he wouldn’t give their money away.

Brenda’s condition worsened but she still nagged Hernan about not giving their money to Luisa. Her last wish was for him to take care of Isabelle and not make her share their money with Luisa and Mayumi. Brenda was in a lot of pain and wanted to sign a form stating that the doctors should not resuscitate her once her time came.
