If you are a fan of Glow Tv then I believe that you know that GlowTV’ existence on the Openview platform looks shaky, for the unaware, in October 2021 Glow tv channel was abruptly removed from the Openview platform.
After the sudden removal or should I say slap from Openview, the management of GlowTv took the case to court and was added back to the platform on the 19th of October after the High Court instructed Openview to do so, But for how long?
The agreement between GlowTV and Openview comes to an end in February 2023 with less than a week left, is up to Openview to decide the future of Glow Tv on their platform.
Looking at reality, there is zero chances that Openview will renew its contract with GlowTV.
“Why”
Ever since the court case, Openview have never published anything on their social media pages as a form of promotion about Glow Tv or it’s series as they use to do before.
Is this the first time Glow Tv is getting slapped “NO” Glow TV was removed from DStv platform in March 2018 when the pay-tv platform opted to not renew their agreement which had a major impact on their offering as primetime converted to reruns as they worked on sourcing new episodes.
Rumors had it that the channel is getting slapped from various platforms due to the low viewership and the launch of Zee channels which I believe is far-fetched since Glow Tv is not entirely a serial channel, however, is very possible. The channel was removed from Dstv after the launch of Zee World and was removed from Openview after the arrival of Zee One. Is this a coincidence?
However, there is a slightest chance of Glow Tv staying on Openview.
“HOW”
Well, Openview is about to launch Ultra view, which means they need more channels for both free and Pay access. So why get rid of Glow Tv when Openview needs more channels.
What’s the next step for GlowTV, are they preparing to launch an online streaming platform? Oh but remember, Glow Tv is still available on the Startimes or Starsat decoder and App but the question again is for how long? Is Glow Tv going off air for good? We live to see.
