Real Madrid star, Rodrygo, has revealed what his teammate, Luka Modric told Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah after Los Blancos defeated the Reds in the Champions League final last month.
Recall that Salah had openly admitted that he wanted to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final in order to exact revenge on the LaLiga champions for the 2018 Champions League final.
The Egyptian captain was forced off injured after 31 minutes of the 2018 final in Kiev following a challenge by Sergio Ramos.
And Salah was convinced that Liverpool, who went into the final as favourites, would beat the same opponents this time around in Paris.
However, Salah was unable to prevent his side from slumping to a 1-0 defeat as Vinicius Jr scored the only goal of the match to ensure Carlo Ancelotti’s side won their 14th Champions League trophy.
Speaking to the Podpah podcast, per ESPN Brazil, Rodrygo revealed he started laughing when Modric told Salah, “thank you, try again next time” after the match.
Rodrygo said, “When the game was over, the Real Madrid players made a runner.
“Liverpool was passing by, Salah was going through a little sad, head down. Modric looked at him and said: ‘Thank you, Salah, next time you try again.’ I started laughing.”
