Former Premier League player and manager, Tim Sherwood has named the best signing of the just concluded summer transfer window.
According to him, Manchester United have missed out on signing the best player available in the summer by not battling Arsenal for Declan Rice.
Rice, 24, left West Ham for Arsenal this summer after helping the Hammers win the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Manchester United instead opted to sign Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount.
They have also landed Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat after selling Fred.
But Sherwood believes that the Red Devils only made backward moves by failing to sign Harry Kane and Rice.
He told No Tippy Tappy Football, “For me, the signing of the season will eventually be Declan Rice.
“I really believe that. I think he’s the player Arsenal needed.
“I’m just amazed that Man United never went out and signed him and Harry Kane.
“But they’ve gone backwards.”
