Jorginho could be on his way out of the Emirates Stadium just a few months after joining Arsenal from Chelsea.
The Italy international will leave the club in the summer if Mikel Arteta’s side wins the Premier League title, according to popular journalist, Graeme Bailey.
In what appears to be one of the surprising moments of the 2022-23 winter transfer window, the Italian left Chelsea to join the Gunners on a deadline-day in a deal worth around £12 million.
He put to an end his stay at Chelsea, a club he joined in the summer of 2018 from Napoli, making 213 appearances, winning the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Arsenal could still win the Premier League this season despite being beaten by Everton in their last outing; the Gunners have a five-point lead at the top after 20 games pending the result from Pep Guardiola’s side game later today.
Bailey said that the midfielder could leave Arsenal and return to Italy this summer if he wins the league title.
Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Bailey said “This could be the signing that wins them the title. I don’t think it has affected their long-term transfer ambitions.
“I’ve been told by someone and they said that they wouldn’t be surprised if Jorginho lifts the title and then still moves back to Italy in the summer.”
