Mason Greenwood fears that he might not be able to join a Saudi Arabian club because of an ongoing feud with Cristiano Ronaldo, the UK Sun reports.
The 21-year-old is looking for a new team after Manchester United announced on Monday that he will no longer play for them.
This follows the conclusion of an internal investigation.
Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 on suspicion of a number of offences including attempted rape.
The Crown Prosecution Service subsequently dropped the charges in February 2023, after key witnesses withdrew and new material came to light.
Greenwood, who has been linked with clubs in Saudi Arabia, believes any possible move may not be possible after his remarks on Ronaldo when he was younger.
While Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid, Greenwood was reported to have openly said the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s career was ‘dead’.
