Cristiano Ronaldo has been impressed by the Manchester United board’s decision to keep him at the club for next season amid interest from Chelsea.
Ronaldo has already informed his club that he wants to leave Old Trafford this season majorly because of their lack of Champions League football for next season.
The Times now reports that the manner in which Manchester United bosses, John Murtough, Richard Arnold and Ten Hag have dealt with Ronaldo’s request has impressed the veteran goalscorer.
And Manchester United have been buoyed by that response from the Portuguese superstar and feels that they are ‘making headway in convincing Ronaldo to remain at Old Trafford this season.
For this reason, the newspaper further reports that Manchester United will not countenance selling the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to Chelsea, despite the Blues showing the most interest in the forward.
The club now hope that the 37-year-old will withdraw his request to leave Old Trafford and that a line can be drawn under the saga before the season starts.
