Arsenal are surprised by William Saliba’s demands as both parties discuss a new contract for the Frenchman.
The Gunners are said to have been ‘shocked’ by his demands.
Saliba has just one year left on his current £40,000-a-week deal and the Gunners do not have the option for an additional year.
Contract talks with Saliba are proving more troublesome and The Sun is reporting that Saliba’s entourage have stunned Arsenal with their salary demands.
Now there is a growing fear that the centre-back may have to be sold this summer.
Arsenal will not allow the 22-year-old to run down his contract and leave on a free transfer, meaning this is their last opportunity to cash in if he does decide against renewing.
The player does not want to accept a £120,000-a-week being offered by Arsenal which is ‘nowhere near’ what the Frenchman demands.
And PSG are prepared to do whatever it takes to lure him to the Parc des Princes.
