Former Aston Villa captain, Gabby Agbonlahor has slammed two Arsenal players Fabio Vieira and Kai Havertz after the Gunners’ Carabao Cup exit to West Ham United on Wednesday.
Agbonlahor claimed that both Vieira and Havertz did not look interested against West Ham at the London Stadium.
Vieira was handed a rare start in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash as West Ham defeated Arsenal 3-1.
He was hoping to make an impression to force his way into Arteta’s starting XI on a more regular basis but he had no impact on the game.
Havertz, on his part, also produced a lacklustre performance against David Moyes’ side.
Speaking after the game, Agbonlahor told talkSPORT: “The problem is that the players that come in that have not been playing.
“The Fabio Vieira’s, the Havertz’s, didn’t look interested.”
He added, “I think someone said to Mikel Arteta before the game, he did an interview saying, ’Arsenal players aren’t really interested in this game, are they?’ – and he said, ‘Why not? Why shouldn’t we be up for this game?’”
