Nottingham Forest are hoping to complete deals for Remo Freuler, Emmanuel Dennis and Cheikhou Kouyate as they continue their summer spending spree.
Forest have already made 13 signings since being promoted from the Championship to the Premier League, and Steve Cooper looks set to bolster his squad even further with the additions of Freuler, Dennis and Kouyate.
The club want the deals boxed off fast as they prepare for their clash with West Ham at the City Ground on Sunday, their first home game in the top flight for 23 years.
Forest have been in talks with Atalanta over a £7.6million deal midfielder Freuler, who has been described as ‘the conductor of the orchestra’ at the Serie ‘A’ side.
The 30-year-old was the subject of further discussions between Forest and Atalanta on Thursday. Freuler is willing to make the move but the details have still to be agreed.
Forest have stepped up their interest in Watford striker Dennis, who has scored 10 goals in 37 appearances for the Hornets, and the newly-promoted club have made a £20million bid for the Nigerian.

Kouyate, who is a free agent having left Crystal Palace at the end of last season, is also expected to join. The 32-year-old Senegalese has featured in almost 300 Premier League matches following spells with Palace and West Ham.
Forest have already spent in excess of £85million on new players this summer but they are still looking to add more to their ranks.
They face competition from Brighton for Villarreal left-back Pervis Estupinan, who they are hoping to sign before the window closes on September 1.
Forest were beaten 2-0 by Newcastle last Saturday on their return to the Premier League.
