Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku confirmed on Saturday that he would join AS Roma this summer transfer window.
Lukaku spoke to Belgian media outlet Het Laatste Nieuws on the sidelines of a youth tournament in Boom, Antwerp province, where his son made his first appearance for Anderlecht.
The former Manchester United and Everton man said he would travel to Rome on Sunday to sign a contract with AS Roma.
“I am nervous… Tomorrow I will fly to Rome to sign,” Lukaku said.
Lukaku’s comments came as Chelsea, his current club, and representatives of the Giallorossi were in London ironing out the details of the deal.
The Belgian had spent last season on loan at Inter Milan.
He is not in Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for this season.
