FIFA has suspended Spanish Football Association (RFEF) president Luis Rubiales from football-related activities for three months after he kissed Jenni Hermoso at the Women’s World Cup final.
This is coming less than a day after Rubiales insisted at a press conference on Friday that he would not resign his position in the face of criticism for kissing Hermoso on the lips as Spain celebrated winning the Women’s World Cup after beating England 1-0 in the final last Sunday.
Many female and male players like Borja Iglesias and David de Gea spoke out against Rubiales’ conduct.
They also called for him to quit his role, and now FIFA’s own disciplinary committee have acted.
