It was no victor no vanquished situation for Super Eagles trio, Taiwo Awoniyi ,Alex Iwobi and Emmanuel Dennis as Everton and Nottingham Forest settled for a 1-1 draw in the EPL Saturday.

While Awoniyi who recently joined Forest from Union Berlin recently was in action for 61 minute, compatriot and teammate Emmanuel Dennis was listed but did not feature in the match. Iwobi on the other hand was in full action for Everton seeing a yellow in the 35th minute. Both teams scored late with Forest shooting into the lead in the 81st minute before the Toffees came from behind to level seven minutes later.

Meanwhile Everton boss Frank Lampard had mixed emotions after Everton snatched their first Premier League point of the season with a late equaliser against Nottingham Forest.

Demarai Gray latched onto a long ball from Jordan Pickford after 88 minutes at Goodison Park on Saturday to salvage a 1-1 draw for the Merseysiders moments after Brennan Johnson had given promoted Forest the lead.

The equaliser was greeted with much relief by the vocal Toffees fans but, based on his side’s overall performance, Lampard felt his side should have been celebrating a first win.

No victor no vanquished

The Everton manager said: “We had a lot of chances through the game – 19 shots – then they take a chance.

“It’s hard when you have a lot of opportunities and a bit of control to sustain that confidence, but it was good spirit to come back from the position of 1-0 down and get a point.

“The frustration is that generally, when you have 19 shots at home, you expect to score more than one goal.

“We wanted to win the game and I thought we deserved to win the game but I understand the bigger picture.”

Lampard, who played Salomon Rondon up front with Gray and Anthony Gordon in support, admitted his side lacked a cutting edge.
