The Toffees are in the midst of crises both on and off the pitch. They sacked manager Frank Lampard on Monday after falling to 19th in the Premier League table – confirmation from the club came several hours after the media had been made aware and reported on it – while fan ire at the board is at an all time high. Members of the Everton hierarchy will no longer attend games at Goodison Park due to safety fears.

They are also set to be beaten to the loan signing of Arnaut Danjuma by Tottenham despite nearly everything being in place to confirm his arrival on Tuesday.

90min now understands that Moshiri is ready to move on from the Toffees and has set an asking price of £750m.

Moshiri initially purchased a 49.9% stake in Everton back in 2016, before upping it to 94% in 2022. He was initially looking to bring in outside investment but is now open to a full sale.

His reign has been marred by reckless spending in the transfer market, with Everton consistently criticised for over-spending on fees and wages.

Financial Fair Play constraints have forced the club to act more frugally in the market over the last couple of years, leading to a series of subpar signings and consecutive battles against relegation.

Everton are also building a new stadium on the site of Bramley-Moore Dock, which is expected to cost around £500m. They are planning to leave Goodison Park at the end of the 2023/24 season.
