Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has refused to give a detailed update on Jadon Sancho.
The winger has struggled to find form following his move to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021.
Sancho has recently been training in the Netherlands in an attempt to improve his conditioning and sharpness ahead of the return of club season.
Ten Hag revealed ahead of United’s Carabao Cup tie with Burnley that Sancho is currently unavailable for selection, and was quizzed about the 22-year-old on Sky Sports following a 2-0 win on Wednesday evening.
When asked if there was any further update on Sancho, Ten Hag simply replied: “No.”
Sancho started life under Ten Hag promisingly, scoring in a 2-1 win against rivals Liverpool that kickstarted United’s season.
He was unable to maintain this form and missed out on a place in England’s squad for the 2022 World Cup. Teammate Marcus Rashford, who also fell out of favour with Gareth Southgate in the last year, was picked to go to Qatar and played a starring role in the Three Lions’ run to the quarter-finals.
United’s Premier League campaign resumes next Tuesday when Nottingham Forest visit Old Trafford.
