Former Manchester United striker, Louis Saha, has slammed the club’s attacker, Wout Weghorst, saying the 30-year-old only provides pressing and nothing else for the team.
Weghorst joined Man United on loan from Burnley in the January transfer window.
He had spent the first half of the season at Besiktas, where he scored goals in 16 appearances.
But Weghorst’s impressive form at Besiktas has not continued in the Premier League, though, with him still waiting for a first goal after nine appearances for Erik ten Hag’s side.
Weghorst has only scored twice in 19 outings across all competitions.
“With Weghorst, you can’t be the number nine of this team and play that amount of games and just provide pressing and nothing else. I don’t get it,” Saha told Compare Bet.
“I’m consistently coming back to this, like everybody else – it is an easy target but that is the reality of it.
‘When you are not performing for a team like United, you should be challenged a bit more because he is not at the moment.
“I am not only on him because, at the moment, Marcus Rashford is the only one who is consistently providing goals and that is not enough.”
