Luis Sinisterra scored his first Premier League goal for Leeds as they came from a goal behind to draw with Everton in an enthralling encounter at Elland Road.

Following his first goal for the club in the EFL Cup last week, Colombia international Sinisterra fired in from 18 yards ten minutes after the break.

Anthony Gordon, linked heavily with Chelsea in recent weeks, put aside the transfer noise to give Everton the lead after 17 minutes, slipping the ball through Illan Meslier’s legs following Alex Iwobi’s through ball.

Leeds looked like grabbing a winner after Sinisterra brought them level, inspired by the play of Jack Harrison and substitute Joe Gelhardt.

However, Jordan Pickford was in inspired form and denied both players, as well as Brenden Aaronson.

Everton had late chances to win it through Amadou Onana and Nathan Patterson, and they are still searching for their first win of the season.

Speaking after the game, Toffees boss Frank Lampard said: “A fully deserved point. They are flying here. A high-pressure team and crowd. When they get together they can create phases that are very difficult for you and we nullified that today.

“Defensive discipline and tactically, players followed the game plan. they want to play through you, win balls back and create chances. We gave them one or two and one was scuffed into the net. In the second half we can probably win the game with the quality of chances we had.

“We want build a squad here that can be versatile and change at different times. We had to look at putting more pressure on the ball by having a man further forward. We had those options.

“Now we are settled, I know we have not won yet but it is hard to play through us. the next step is can we be more of a threat in possession, but you have to build from the bottom. I have no problem with what the boys have done tonight. I thought they were great.”
