Chelsea legend, Tony Cascarino, has said that Manchester City forward, Raheem Sterling, will be a perfect signing for Chelsea.
This is after the Blues ‘formally approached’ Manchester City as they look to step up their move for Sterling.
Sterling heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium after falling down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola.
With a contract that expires next summer, City are seemingly open to cashing in on the 27-year-old.
The Daily Mail reports that Boehly made contact with City on Monday with a view to wrap up the deal this week.
Chelsea will make a formal bid for the England international after finalising personal terms with him.
The Englanf star is in the final year of his £300,000-a-week contract.
Cascarino believes that Sterling would be a great addition thanks to the unique skillset that he’d bring to the west London club.
Speaking to talkSPORT’s Cascarino said:
“I think that Raheem is perfect for Chelsea, I think that they need that kind of player.
“I love Raheem’s pace. There are so few players who can get to the byline as a wide player. “
