Frank Lampard has named Chelsea’s standout player for him since his return to Stamford Bridge.
According to the Englishman, January signing, Enzo Fernandez has been the ‘standout’ player at Chelsea.
Lampard said this while fielding questions from reporters on Friday ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Brighton on Saturday.
There are reports that the Argentine’s contract has been extended to keep him at Stamford until 2032, however, Lampard said he doesn’t care about deals for players at the moment.
Fernandez has largely impressed in west London since his record-breaking £107m move from Benfica during the January transfer window.
“I can’t confirm that, I don’t know actually, sorry about that,” Lampard said when asked about the contract speculation.
“The only thing I can say is that from working with Enzo he has been a standout character and player for me in this last week in terms of his attitude and quality.
“Even though he’s only been here a short time, I think he’s a fantastic player for this club…”
