Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Nathan Tella, is relishing the chance to wear the green and white colour of Nigeria.
Tella has been handed his maiden invitation to the Super Eagles for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
The 24-year-old was also eligible to represent England but opted to play for the Super Eagles.
“It’s a great feeling and a great opportunity for me. As a young boy and a footballer, you dream of representing your own country – and now I finally have the opportunity to do so. I can’t wait and I’m really looking forward to it,” he told Bayer Leverkusen’s official website.
The games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe offers Tella the opportunity to make his competitive debut for the Super Eagles.
Nigeria and Lesotho will clash in a matchday one fixture at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo next Thursday.
Jose Peseiro’s side will do battle with Zimbabwe three days later at the Huye Stadium, Butare.
