Be vigilant and report any suspicious person in your areas – Plateau state police command reacts to threats of planned bomb attacks on bus stations in the state

The Plateau state police command has reacted to rumors of planned bomb attacks on some bus stations in Jos, the state capital.

 

In a statement released, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Alfred Alabo, said the allegations of an impending bomb threat (IED) around Terminus area of Jos metropolis are being investigated.

 

Alabo said that based on the rumors making the rounds on social media, the command has swiftly responded to the situation by deploying its Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) unit and other tactical teams of the command to put the situation under control.

 

”The Command hereby assures the members of the public of their safety. In view of the above, the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command CP Bartholomew N. Onyeka psc (+) wishes to implore the good people of Plateau State to be vigilant and report any suspicious person or movements in their areas to the nearest Police Station or other relevant security agencies for quick and prompt response.” the statement read in part

 

 

He added that the state Commissioner of Police further implores members of the public to go about their lawful businesses as EOD experts and intelligence mechanism have been put in place to contain any form of emerging security threat.
