The Federal lawmaker representing Edo North in the Senate, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has accused the State governor, Godwin Obaseki, of denying the All Progressives Congress (APC) access to use public school premises for their campaign ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial polls in the state.

Oshiomhole, while speaking in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area, during the APC’s ward-to-ward campaign, expressed his frustration over the issue.

Oshiomhole, who was a former governor of the state said that many of these schools were constructed while he was in power, making it all the more perplexing that his party would be denied using such facilities for campaign purposes.

He further criticised Governor Obaseki, reminding him that his position is that of a caretaker, temporarily holding office on behalf of the people of Edo State.

Oshiomhole added that APC will hold campaign in the state facilities and dared Obaseki to come to the place.

He said, “We will deny Obaseki the use of federal roads if he deprives us of using government schools again. Next time he stops us, we will enter and use the facilities.”

Speaking on the upcoming election, Oshiomhole noted that the APC governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, would engage in a debate with the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

The Senator insisted that the debate be conducted in the Esan dialect and moderated by Esan people, emphasising that “charity begins at home.”
