Senator Iyiola Omisore, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been reportedly denied entry into the ongoing meeting of the emergency National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
TORI earlier reported that the Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Abubakar Kyari, took over the NWC meeting following the absence of the party’s National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
The development confirms the widely reported resignation of Adamu at the weekend following the order of President Bola Tinubu.
Around 11:20 am, Omisore arrived at the secretariat to join other NWC members in the meeting but was allegedly denied entry.
However, the APC national scribe left the party secretariat without speaking to reporters who were already stationed at the entrance of the building.
Present at the meeting includes Kyari, Deputy National Chairman (South) Emma Enukwu, National Vice Chairman (North West) Salihu Lukman, and National Vice Chairman (North East) Salihu Mustapha.
Others are National Vice Chairman (North Central), Muazu Bawa; National Vice Chairman(South West), Isaac Kekemeke; National Vice Chairman (South East), Ejoroma Arodiogu and the Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter.
Security around the national secretariat has been beefed up, with those driving into the compound and the street properly screened and questioned by security operatives.
In a related development, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of APC, Chidi Duru, in an exclusive interview with NTA, said meetings are currently going on across all organs in view of the development affecting the party’s National Leadership.
