The Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba state, has finally commenced hearing on the suit seeking the disqualification of the guber candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the state, Kefas Agbu.
The suit instituted by Professor Jerome Nyameh, an aggrieved PDP guber aspirant, is seeking the immediate disqualification of Agbu on the grounds that he did not purchase the expression of interest and nomination forms of the party.
Nyameh, who in his writ of summons claimed that the candidate was the party chairman, also wants the court to restrain him from contesting for the governorship position of the state on the platform of the PDP come 2023.
Speaking on Thursday at the premises of the court, Nyame, via his counsel, Pius Damba, asked the court to declare his client as the βvalidly nominated candidate of the PDP for the 2023 governorship election.β
The presiding judge, Simone Akpa Amobeda, who admitted that the processes in the matter has been filed, urged the council to all the parties, to cooperate with him to conclude the suit as and when due.
The judge whom DAILY POST gathered has been transferred from the state, promised to do all he can to conclude all the pre-election matters brought before him.
