Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and his New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), counterpart, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, met in Abuja on Tuesday evening.
Speculations are that the two political gladiators might be meeting to consider forming a formidable opposition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government led by President Bola Tinubu.
The two political rivals, however, met yesterday behind closed doors. The agenda of the meeting which took place at Kwankwaso’s Abuja residence is unknown as at the time of reporting.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared APC’s Tinubu as the winner of the February 25 presidential election, an outcome which is currently being disputed by Atiku and another opposition candidate, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) before the Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC).
Kwankwaso emerged a distant fourth after Atiku and Obi, who trailed Tinubu respectively.
He took to Twitter to share photos from their meeting.
