Chris Imumolen, the newly appointed national chairman of the Accord Party, has announced the reinstation of 26 members who had previously faced expulsion and suspension from the party.

Imumolen announced this decision during the Emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting of the Accord Party, which took place on September 4, 2024, in Abuja.

This move follows an Abuja High Court ruling which mandated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to acknowledge Imumolen as the National Chairman of the Accord Party.

Reports indicate that these reinstated members had been suspended due to the controversies that had earlier affected the party.

Among those reinstated are Rev. Isaac Adebayo Adeniyi, Yaku Akintayo, Mogaji Igbinsola Paul, Innocent Igboekwe, Prince Joseph James, Adebayo Daniel, Oladapo Joseph, Rukayat Olanrewaju, Tolutope Babalola, Alhaji Nasiru Bolarinwa, Jamilu Abass, and others.

This development follows a recent ruling by a federal high court in Abuja, which affirmed Prof. Christopher Imumolen as the sole recognized chairman of the Accord Party.

During the emergency NEC meeting, the party encouraged members from any state who felt overlooked or excluded from party activities to submit their grievances to the conflict resolution committee chaired by the national secretary of the party.

This initiative aims to create strategic avenues for enhancing the partyโ€™s operations and addressing the significant challenges it faces moving forward.
