The Niger State Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alh Isah Liman Kantigi has debunked rumours making the rounds that he has withdrawn from the 2023 gubernatorial race in the State.
In a statement issued by one of the elders of Kantigi Movement 2023, Alh Abdullahi Kwatu Paiko, he described the rumour being peddled as baseless and unfounded
“This is not the first time we have been witnessing such rumour and blackmail. Before the PDP primary election, over 20 petitions were written to the screening committee in Abuja and all their allegations were baseless as they could not substantiate it with documents,” the elder explained.
Alh Kwatu also decried the attitude of some members of the PDP in the State who were supposed to give their support to the candidate, but decided to engage in character assassination.
He insisted that no amount of rumour or blackmail will deter Kantig from perfecting his ambition towards making his set objectives realizable.
The statement further maintained that as it is, Kantigi is more focused and determined to pursue his ambition knowing the antics of the detractors, who are bent on bringing him down, for their selfish tendencies.
“Our concern is focusing on the choice of his running mate which we are still consulting, even as the Kantigi movement strategies to win general elections. The strategies are being mapped out, which will be roll out soon,” he said.
Kwatu then urged the candidate’s teeming supporters to be resolute, assuring them that his candidacy was non-negotiable.
