After significant delays due to the writer’s strike, the popular daytime show The Talk is finally coming back for its fourteenth season. According to the show’s official Instagram account, The Talk Season 14 will premiere on October 9 at 2 p.m. ET on CBS.
The daytime show initially planned to make its return on September 18, but ultimately decided to push back its return after actress Drew Barrymore — the host of The Drew Barrymore Show — was criticized for deciding to go ahead with the eponymous talk show’s return. The actress then chose to delay the show indefinitely.
Created by Roseanne actress Sara Gilbert, the Emmy Award-winning American talk show debuted in 2010 on CBS. It has featured a number of presenters over its decade-long existence, including Sharon Osbourne, Leah Remini, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Marie Osmond, Eve, Holly Robinson Peete, Carrie Ann Inaba, Elaine Welteroth, Aisha Tyler, and Big Brother longtime host Julie Chen Moonves. The Talk has so far earned a total of 11 Emmy Awards and 56 Emmy nominations.
The show follows a simple premise: presenters discuss the latest headlines and events.
“The hosts exchange stories and share their opinions on issues and events in the headlines. The show also features celebrity guest interviews, musical performances, cooking segments and human interest stories,” CBS wrote about The Talk.
Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Sheryl Underwood will be returning for Season 14.
