The Super Mario Bros. Movie Toys by Jakks Pacific Revealed

Ahead of The Super Mario Bros. Movie releasing later this year, a new retail toy line for the film is headed to store shelves in February, featuring some of the most iconic characters from the video game franchise.

The new toy line comes from Jakks Pacific, which announced on Tuesday that it would be bringing to market a new toy line from the upcoming film. The toy line will include things like posable figures, accessories, playsets, plush toys, as well as an RC toy. The line will begin appearing on shelves in North America, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa on February 26, 2023.

“JAKKS Pacific has been excited about working with Illumination, Nintendo, and Universal Products & Experiences to develop a line of unique toys for The Super Mario Bros. Movie available on Feb 26., 2023,” said Craig Drobis, Senior Vice President of Marketing at JAKKS Pacific, Inc. “Our collector and fan community will be thrilled with JAKKS’ new scales that really bring home the rich details inspired by the characters and sets on the big screen, including our new 5” figures with realistic acrylic eyes and movie accessories in a premium window box. We’re excited to unveil even more very soon.”

The film stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is being directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (collaborators on Teen Titans Go! To the Movies) from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel (The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, Minions: The Rise of Gru). Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto are producing. Nintendo and Universal Pictures are co-financing the project.
