The Agency: Richard Gere Joins Showtime Series With Michael Fassbender and Jeffrey Wright

Emmy nominee Richard Gere is the latest big name to join the upcoming Showtime series The Agency following the additions of Michael Fassbender and Jeffrey Wright.

Gere is set to play Bosko, a London Station Chief that’s described as having a storied past after serving as an 8-year undercover agent. Gere, known for films like Pretty Woman and American Gigolohas had a few television roles in the place, including playing the main role of Max Finch in the British thriller MotherFatherSon. However, The Agency marks a major television role for Gere and the actor is said to have decided on it after fielding a number of high-profile TV offers.

What to know about Gere’s new TV show, The Agency

The upcoming political thriller centers on Martian (two-time Academy Award nominee Fassbender), a covert CIA agent that’s ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. However, when the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. This leads to a battle between Martian’s career, real identity, mission, and heart and a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage. As for Wright, he’ll play Henry, the Director of Operations and mentor to Martian.

The Agency is described as a fresh take on the critically acclaimed hit French drama Le Bureau des Légendes (The Bureau).
