Within 24 hours since the official announcement of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie, Deadline brings word that Swifties across North America have set a new presale record for AMC with $26 million tickets sold on its first day. The Eras Tour movie is scheduled to make its debut on October 13 in U.S. theaters.

“Taylor Swift is giving moviegoing fans and the entire industry the ultimate gift by bringing Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film to the big screen,” Fandango’s Senior Vice President of Ticketing, Jerramy Hainline, said in a statement. “Not only is Taylor Swift’s concert film the best first-day ticket seller of the year on Fandango, but the concert film is performing like the superhero she is and ranking among the best first-day ticket sellers of all time from franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, DC Comics and more.”
“The cultural phenomenon continues on the big screen! Immerse yourself in this once-in-a-lifetime concert film experience with a breathtaking, cinematic view of the history-making tour,” reads the synopsis. “Taylor Swift Eras attire and friendship bracelets are strongly encouraged!”
Described as Swift’s “most meaningful, electric experience” of her life, The Eras Tour movie hails from Emmy-winning filmmaker Sam Wrench. He has already directed several concert films and music documentaries, including Mary J. Blige: The London Sessions, Mumford & Sons: We Wrote This Yesterday, and BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage – LA.
In The Eras Tour, Swift brings her fans on a musical journey where she goes through each of ten studio albums, including her self-titled debut album, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. After completing the first North American leg’s 53 sold-out shows from March 17 through August 9, Swift is currently touring Latin America, including Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil, which is expected to last until November 26. In 2024, the global superstar will be taking her Eras Tour to Asia and Europe.
