What happens in the new Squid Game Season 2 video?

The short video highlights some of the players in the green jumpsuits, which are now familiar. Over the course of the 48-second clip, different numbers are shown: 388, 222, 125, and so on. But that last number, 456, belongs to Gi-hun. He eyes the camera with a look of determination, which continues the Squid Game Season 1 closing scene in which Gi-hun promises to destroy those responsible for the deadly games. The teaser ends with the following text: the final game begins.

It’s known that Squid Game Season 2 will include the returns of the Front Man (played by Lee Byung-hun) and The Recruiter (Gong Yoo), in addition to Wi-ha Joon as the police officer Hwang Jun-ho. In terms of new players poised to receive the spotlight, the Squid Game Season 2 cast includes Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-nuel, Park Sang-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun.

Other new additions to the ensemble are Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an. Although character specifics are mostly being kept under wraps, they are all expected to portray new players in the deadly games.

Squid Game Season 3 has already been confirmed as the show’s last, bringing an end to the South Korean thriller from creator Hwang Dong-hyuk. The creator had a historic win at the 74th Primetime Emmys as the first Asian to win Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. He’ll be continuing his role as director, writer, and producer.

Squid Game quickly became one of Netflix’s most-watched series around the world. It garnered over 1.65 billion viewing hours and was watched by more than 142 million households in its first 28 days. Along with its record-breaking viewership, the thriller won several awards, including the Gotham Awards’ Breakthrough Series, the AFI Special Award, and six Primetime Emmy Awards.
