Netflix has dropped the official Sly trailer for its newest documentary, centering around action legend Sylvester Stallone’s rise to Hollywood stardom.
The video highlights Stallone’s inspiring underdog story. It also features the Rocky star talking about the consequences of fame and realizing what’s more important in life. Following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, the documentary will now be available for streaming on November 3 exclusively on Netflix.

“For nearly 50 years Sylvester Stallone has entertained millions with iconic characters and blockbuster franchises, from Rocky to Rambo to The Expendables,” reads the logline. “This retrospective documentary offers an intimate look at the Oscar-nominated actor-writer-director-producer, paralleling his inspirational underdog-story with the indelible characters he has brought to life.”
The documentary is directed by Thom Zimny (Springsteen on Broadway) with Sean Stuart producing. Executive producers are Stallone, Braden Aftergood, Tom Forman, Jenny Daly, Braden Aftergood, Jon Beyer, Bill Zanker, and Sam Delcanto.
