Amazon is set to develop a series based on Claudia Lux’s novel Sign Here, with actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge set to executive produce.
According to a recent report from Variety, Waller-Bridge and Jenny Robbins will executive produce the project via their Wells Street Films production house. Lux will also serve as co-writer for the series, with it being included in Waller-Bridge’s overall deal with Amazon, which Variety also notes had been recently renewed.
According to a logline for the series, Sign Here is “a darkly humorous, utterly gripping debut novel about a guy who works in Hell (literally). Peyote Trip has a pretty good gig in the deals department on the fifth floor of Hell. Sure, none of the pens work, the coffee machine has been out of order for a century, and the only drink on offer is Jägermeister, but it’s still Hell and after waiting a millennium he comes up with a plan that might just change his life (and death) forever.”
Waller-Bridge is best known for the hit comedy series Fleabag, which she adapted from a one-woman play and turned into a two-season series on Amazon. The series won six Emmy Awards across both of its seasons and catapulted Waller-Bridge into superstardom.
She’s also appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story and will star in the highly anticipated Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, where she’ll play Helena — Indy’s goddaughter.
