Sandman Season 2 Cast Adds Jack Gleeson & 7 More to Netflix Series

The Sandman Season 2 cast continues to grow, with Netflix announcing that eight new actors have joined the upcoming series, including Game of Thrones’ Jack Gleeson and comedian Steve Coogan.

In a recent announcement, Netflix revealed a slew of new casting choices, with Gleeson joining the series as Puck, a “malevolent hobgoblin” that acts as the royal jester to King Auberon of Faerie. Other announced actors, and their respective roles, include Ruairi O’Connor (The Spanish Princess) joining the series as Orpheus, the poet and oracle, Freddie Fox (The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare) playing Loki, the god of chaos.

Clive Russell (Game of Thrones) will Odin, the father of Thor. Laurence O’Fuarain (The Witcher: Blood Origin) was cast as Thor, the storm god, while Ann Skelly (The Nevers) and Douglas Booth (Jupiter Ascending) will both play Cluracan, royal emissaries from the court of Faerie. Indya Moore plays Wanda, a professional driver and security agent, and Steve Coogan plays Barnabas, a canine companion for the Endless’s brother.

The cast joins the previously announced returning cast members of Tom Sturridge, Kirby, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Ferdinand Kingsley, Stephen Fry, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Vanesu Samunyai, and Razane Jammal.

What to expect from The Sandman Season 2?

“A journey is beginning that will take us from Destiny’s garden to Hell, from the Heart of the Dreaming to Ancient Greece and revolutionary France, and from there to places even I cannot quite imagine on the screen. I will be patient. Good things are coming,” creator Neil Gaiman teased in his previous letter celebrating the 35th anniversary of his The Sandman comics.

The live-action series is written by Gaiman and showrunner Allan Heinberg, based on the acclaimed author’s DC Comics of the same name. Season 2 will also feature Patton Oswalt as the voice of Matthew the Raven, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, Ferdinand Kingsley as Hob Gadling, Stephen Fry as Gilbert / Fiddler’s Green, Asim Chaudhry as Abel, Sanjeev Bhaskar as Cain, Vanesu Samunyai as Rose Walker, and Razane Jammal as Lyta Hall. It is executive produced by David S. Goyer, with Warner Bros. Television serving as its studio.
