We are just a few weeks away from Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, and there’s a nice double header of news for fans today.
Firstly, a pair of new stills from the movie have crept from the dark. You get another glimpse at the infamous animatronics in these shots.
But you can also now book your tickets for Blumhouse’s other major October release (The Exorcist: Believer is out this week). Just head to Fandango for more details.
“The terrifying horror game phenomenon becomes a blood-chilling cinematic event, as Blumhouse brings Five Nights at Freddy’s to the big screen,” reads the movie’s synopsis. “The film follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be easy to make it through.”
That’s entirely in line with the basic premise behind earlier Five Nights at Freddy’s games, but it looks like it will also pepper that with some of the later backstory.
Emma Tammi directs Five Nights at Freddy’s from a screenplay she co-wrote with game creator Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback. The adaptation stars Matthew Lillard (Scream), Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games films), Piper Rubio (Holly & Ivy), Mary Stuart Masterson (The Stepford Wives), Elizabeth Lail (You), and Kat Conner Sterling (A Week Away).
Five Nights at Freddy’s will be in theaters and streaming on Peacock on October 27.
