According to Deadline, Nope star Keke Palmer has officially signed on for the leading role in the upcoming action comedy film titled Moxie. The rights to the project have just been acquired by Amazon Studios.
Moxie will be directed by Amber Templermore-Finlayson aka Bert of the Bert and Bertie directing duo. This marks the filmmaker’s first solo directorial feature, which will be written by Heather Quinn. The project will be produced by Palmer, Peter Lawson, and Kate Churchill. It is set to be executive produced by Sharon Palmer.
The film will center around “a foul-mouthed stripper who pisses off the FBI in a big way when she somehow becomes the best candidate for their fancy new agent program.”
Keke Palmer is best known for her early roles in Akeelah and the Bee and Jump In!. She’s also a former Nickelodeon star who led her own sitcom back True Jackson, VP. Besides starring in Jordan Peele’s acclaimed sci-fi horror Nope, Palmer also recently starred in Disney’s Lightyear film, in which she lent her voice to the character of Izzy Hawthorne.
