Love and Death will center around two church-going couples enjoying small-town family life in Texas — until somebody picks up an axe. It is based on the book titled Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs and a collection of articles from Texas Monthly (“Love & Death in Silicon Prairie,” Part I & II).
The limited series stars Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision) as Candy Montgomery, Jesse Plemons (Jungle Cruise) as Allan Gore, Lily Rabe (American Horror Story) as Betty Gore, Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) as Sherry Cleckler, Patrick Fugit (Outcast) as Pat Montgomery, Keir Gilchrist (Atypical) as Pastor Ron Adams, Elizabeth Marvel (House of Cards) as Pastor Jackie Ponder, and Tom Pelphrey (Ozark) as Don Crowder.
Love and Death is written and executive produced by David E. Kelley (The Undoing) through his David E. Kelly Productions banner, with Lesli Linka Glatter (Mad Men) set to direct. Executive producers are Glatter, Nicole Kidman, and Per Saari through Blossom Films, Scott Brown and Megan Creydt through Texas Monthly, Matthew Tinker, Michael Klick, and Helen Verno. Lionsgate will produce the limited series.
