Lioness Season 2 has revealed its release date, confirming the return of the Paramount+ drama starring Nicole Kidman, which was previously titled Special Ops: Lioness.
Lioness will premiere on Sunday, October 27, with two episodes, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and internationally, wherever the platform is available.
The show’s cast includes lead and executive producer Zoe Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, and Emmy Award nominee Michael Kelly, with Oscar winner Morgan Freeman and Oscar and Emmy winner and executive producer Kidman. Lioness is currently filming in Texas.
The ensemble also includes Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Hannah Love Lanier.
Lioness Season 2 will see the CIA’s fight against terror move Joe (Saldaña), Kaitlyn (Kidman), and Byron (Kelly) to sign up a new Lioness operative with the goal of infiltrating a threat that was previously unknown. Still, as pressures mount from all sides, Joe has to once again deal with the personal sacrifices she has made as the leader of the Lioness program. It builds on the events of the Season 1 finale, in which Joe quits the program.
The show is also executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. It’s part of Sheridan’s growing slate on Paramount+, which includes 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
Sheridan’s upcoming drama, meanwhile, is Landman. It includes a big cast, with names such as Jon Hamm and Demi Moore. There are also the second installments of the Slyvester Stallone crime drama Tulsa King and 1923 Season 2, which is a Yellowstone prequel starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.
