Actor Kevin Spacey recently revealed that he underwent a health scare during a trip overseas for a film festival.
This week, Spacey spoke at the closing ceremonies of the 15th Tashkent International Film Festival in Uzbekistan. During the speech, Spacey revealed that he’d undergone an “unexpected” medical incident. After spending a night out at a bar, Spacey said he had little sleep before waking up and going out on a tour of the Afrasiyab Museum in Samarkand.
“I was looking at these extraordinary murals on the walls, and I suddenly felt my entire left arm go numb for about eight seconds,” said Spacey. “I shook it off, but I immediately told the people I was with, and we went immediately to the […] medical center.”
According to The Sun (via Los Angeles Times), Spacey was then taken to the Innova Diagnostic Clinic and underwent a series of tests, including an MRI and other work. The actor said that thankfully, he was cleared of any issues and that “everything turned out to be completely normal.”
“I am, of course, grateful that it’s not anything more serious,” he continued. “But it also made me really take a moment and think to myself how fragile life is for all of us, and how important it is that we come together, that we support each other, that we do what we can for the next generation.”
