Ten actors have just joined the cast of Welcome to Derry.
Welcome to Derry is an upcoming television series that serves as a prequel to 2017’s It and 2019’s It Chapter Two. Bill Skarsgård, who starred in both It movies, is returning to star as the villainous clown named Pennywise and will also executive produce the series
Per Deadline, Welcome to Derry has added Alixandra Fuchs (The Chi), Kimberly Guerrero (Longmire), Dorian Grey (Transplant), Thomas Mitchell (RoboCop), BJ Harrison (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Peter Outerbridge (Lucky Number Slevin), Shane Marriott (Fargo), Chad Rook (Joe Pickett), Joshua Odjick (The Swarm), and Morningstar Angeline (Echo) to the cast.
It was previously announced that Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, and Stephen Rider will also star in the series.
Andy Muschietti, who directed It and It Chapter Two, developed Welcome to Derry alongside Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs. Andy Muschietti is directing four episodes in the nine-episode series.
Andy and Barbara Muschietti also serve as executive producers alongside SkarsgĂĄrd, Fuchs, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin. Fuchs and Kane serve as co-showrunners.
“Set in the world of Stephen King’s It universe, Welcome to Derry is based on King’s It novel,” the series’ current description reads. “It expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films It and It Chapter Two.”
Further plot details for the It prequel series remain under wraps at this time.
While an exact release date has not yet been announced, Welcome to Derry is expected to premiere sometime in 2025 on HBO. It, meanwhile, is currently streaming on Apple TV+ for subscribers, while It Chapter Two is available to rent on various streaming platforms such as Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, and more.
