Gravitas Ventures has acquired the horror thriller I’ll Play Mother and set a release date window for Brad Watson’s movie.
Variety revealed the news on the movie acquired from Concourse Media. The movie is set to release in September 2024 across North America. There are no details on a release outside that continent.
I’ll Play Mother is described as a twisted psychological horror about the relentless and unending paranoia of parenthood. Its story follows two children who are placed into the care system after the death of their birth mother. At this point, they realize there is something sinister at play.
I’ll Play Mother is directed by Brad Watson (The Siege). It’s adapted from Ben Charles Edwards’ (Father of Flies) original story by Libby Adams. It’s cast includes Susanne Wuest (Goodnight Mommy, A Cure For Wellness), Jo Martin (Doctor Who, Batman Begins), and Shubham Saraf (Overlord, 6 Underground).
The film comes from The Number 44. The UK-based production house was co-founded by Edwards alongside Phil McKenzie (Quant) and Kirsty Bell (A Bird Flew In).
