Oddballs is a charming kid’s show full of humour and creativity. After finishing all 12 episodes, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
Oddballs centers on a marshmallow-looking boy called James, who’s joined by his crazy crocodile pal Max as they navigate the world and get into different misadventures. Each chapter explores and pokes fun of tropes, puns and social issues, spinning them in a way where there’s both a moral lesson at work and a good dose of creativity to boot.
There is a longer thread running through this, with the finale linking back to earlier episodes, but I’m not about to spoil that here as the reveal is a lovely way of tying everything together. For the most part though, the content here work as standalone episodic romps, so it’s very easy to slip in and out of this one. Although I would recommend watching the lot as there are characters here that tie into the bigger picture.
We have extensive coverage of Oddballs across the site, including a full season review.
At the time of writing, Oddballs has not been renewed for a second season. Given the nature of the show’s content, that could well change if it does good numbers for Netflix.
Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.
So far, Oddballs has had a pretty positive reception with critics and audiences alike really digging this one.
Taking everything into consideration, given how popular TheOdd1sOut’s YouTube Channel is, and the potential audience size for this project, we’re predicting that Oddballs will be renewed for a second season. This is the perfect sort of show to binge through, and one that both adults and kids can enjoy.
We’ll be sure to update this section with accurate details over the coming weeks and months when we know more!
