Halle Berry has expanded on the ongoing disagreement between her and Drake, sharing that the rapper actually did reach out about using a photo of her covered in slime for a single cover, but she said no.
Over the weekend, Halle Berry took to Instagram to share a photo with a quote that read “Sometimes you have to be the bigger guy…even if you’re a woman,” and hinted that she wasn’t happy that Drake had used a photo of her covered in slime as the cover to his and SZA’s new single, “Slime You Out.”
A day later, Berry followed up in the comments, replying to a fan who mentioned that Drake had probably gone through Getty Images to secure the rights to the photo. According to Berry, Drake did in fact reach out to the actress, but she said she didn’t want the photo used.
“Cuz he asked me and I said NO that’s why,” Berry’s comment read (via TMZ). “Why ask if you intend to do what you want to do ! That was the f*** you to me. Not cool You get it?”
Another reply from Berry clarifies the statement, saying that Drake’s team did reach out about the photo and she refused their request. According to the actress, Drake decided to use it anyway, a move that Berry deems as disrespectful and “not cool.”
“He did have his people call my people call my people and I said NO,” Berry wrote in the replies to her post. “I didn’t like that image of slime all over my face in association with his song. And he chose to do it anyway! You see…that is the disrespect. Not cool!”
