A Quiet Place: Day One serves as a prequel to A Quiet Place, the post-apocalyptic horror film series co-created by John Krasinski. Michael Sarnoski is writing and directing Day One based on a story treatment by Krasinski, the latter of whom is also attached as a producer.
In addition to the upcoming prequel/spin-off, Krasinski is developing a third main-series film in the A Quiet Place saga. A video game based on (and sharing continuity with) the film series is also in the works.
Directed and co-written by Krasinski, A Quiet Place opened in theaters in April 2018. The film — which also co-stars Krasinski — centers on a family struggling to survive following the invasion of a sightless alien race that hunts by sound. Krasinski returned to write and direct a sequel, A Quiet Place Part II, which opened in March 2020.
