CD Projekt Red announced on Thursday that it was partnering with Anonymous Content to develop a Cyberpunk 2077 live-action project.
According to CD Projekt Red in a statement, the project is in an “early development stage,” with the companies now looking for a screenwriter that will “tell a brand-new story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.”
While little is known about the project as of now, CD Projekt Red said it will be developed “in close collaboration” with the team creative team behind Cyberpunk 2077.
Anonymous Content is an independent global entertainment company that has credits on a litany of projects. Most recently, the company was credited on the Hulu series Saint X, the AppleTV+ series Shantaram starring Charlie Hunnam and The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey starring Samuel L. Jackson and Dominique Fishback, as well as the second season of HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness.
Upcoming series from the company include season four of True Detective starring Jodie Foster, AppleTV+’s Time Bandits from Taika Waititi, Disclaimer from Alfonso Cuarón, and Savant, starring Jessica Chastain.
Prior to this announcement, CD Projekt Red has already had success adapting the world of Cyberpunk 2077 into other mediums, namely the world of anime for the hit Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
