According to Deadline, Golden Globe nominee Rebecca Ferguson has entered the final negotiations for the leading role in Skydance’s forthcoming adaptation of Joe Abercrombie’s Best Served Cold. Ferguson is set to portray legendary mercenary Monza Murcatto on her quest for revenge.
Before starring in Best Served Cold, Ferguson will next be seen in two high-profile projects. These are Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning and Dune: Part Two, where she’ll reprise her respective roles as Ilsa Faust and Lady Jessica. She currently stars in Apple TV+’s Silo series, which marks her first major TV role in nearly a decade.
Best Served Cold is directed by Deadpool filmmaker Tim Miller from a screenplay written by Abercrombie, who acts as a producer. The original novel was first published in 2009.
The project is produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Aaron Ryder, and Blur Studios. Aimee Rivera has also been tapped to oversee the film’s in behalf of Skydance.
The book official synopsis reads:
